The first stop of the 2014 UCI World Cup mountain bike season takes Specialized’s Downhill Team to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, a return visit to the site of the 2013 UCI World Championships. Although one of the most exotic locations on the World Cup circuit, Specialized’s Aaron Gwin, Troy Brosnan, and Mitch Ropelato each have posted good results, or shown their speed potential on this uniquely challenging track. Meanwhile, new Team Manager and World Cup Downhill legend, Eric Carter, looks to help his riders by sharing race-day preparation tactics for the sport’s biggest stage.
