Dynastar created the Powertrack 89 Ski to set a new standard of performance in the world of all-mountain skis.
The day I tested the Powertrack 89 we had sunny skies, fresh groomers, and soft spring corn snow. From the very first turn, I was impressed with how playful and easy the skis were to control. The classic camber underfoot gives these skis a huge sweet spot for balance and ample power for laying down hard turns, while the subtle rocker in the tip and tail gives you a shorter running length and effortless turn initiation.
Not only are these skis quick to turn, I was also impressed with how well they tracked at fast speeds, which is something you don’t always get with a shorter all-mountain ski.
The Powertrack 89 is 126mm in the tip, 89 underfoot, and 109 in the tail. The new Powertrack tech blends equal parts power and playfulness, creating a high-performance ski that is easy and intuitive to drive. The all-mountain rocker is primarily classic camber with a subtle tip and tail rocker, and the Progressive five-point sidecut makes the skis responsive and easy to control in just about any type of snow. The Powertrack 89 also includes Dynastar’s high performance sandwich laminate and full length vertical sidewalls for better edge hold on icy hardpack.
If you’re mainly concerned with trenching groomers and laying down perfect turns at the resort, but still want the ability to get into the crud and softer snow every once and a while, you can’t go wrong with the Dynastar Powertrack 89.
