Despite the hundreds of racers on the starting line, the Cape Epic’s most brutal challengers are the unrelenting terrain and the havoc set upon bikes and equipment. Specialized Racing’s support team of Benno Willeit, Harry Orr, Dylan van der Merwe, and Pieter Wehmeyer work through the night to have the bikes and riders prepared for Stage 4. The 88km ahead presents an opportunity for Christoph and Frantisek to chip away at the Yellow jersey’s lead, while Sam and Eric continue their inspiring push through the field and climbing the overall ranking.
