[For a one board quiver that rips everything from powder to park, you can’t go wrong with the new Roxy Radiance.] The Radiance features the C2 BTX profile that puts rocker between your feet with camber out to the tip and tail. A great design for strong riders who want a predictable feel and stability at high speeds. But the Radiance will do more than simply rip turns. The true twin shape and poppy feel allow the board to hold its own during park sessions, and the Magne-Traction edges are serrated for better hold in icy conditions.
[The day I rode the Radiance it was all sunshine and fresh Utah powder.] I spend a lot of time riding park but love making some turns when there’s fresh snow, and the Radiance was the perfect tool for the job. Plenty of float for the powder but it still had a fun and playful feel.
I was hyped on the board’s flex and pop right from the beginning. It’s a bit stiffer than some of Roxy’s more park oriented boards, which made it easy to handle and less likely to wheelie out.
I had a couple of crashes mid-morning and the Radiance handled the tomahawks like a champ! Definitely passing the durability test in my book.
Later in the day, we found some great untracked zones and I was able to slash some backside turns that felt simply amazing!
If you’re looking for a snowboard that can handle everything from groomers, to park, to big powder days, I’d give the Roxy Radiance a try. This board is tons of fun!
