The Ride Helix is an asymmetrical all-mountain board designed to charge fast and hard. With a quick glance it’s clear that this board’s shape is what sets it apart. The asymmetrical sidecut features different radii for the heel and toe sides to give you greater control on heelside turns. A mostly camber profile adds pop and drive for even more power and control, while small rocker zones at the tip and tail prevents it from feeling catchy. It also has Slimewalls sidewalls to reduce chatter and give you a smooth ride, as well as a hybrid of triax and biax glass for quick response.
I rode the Helix on a warm, sunny spring day at Snowbasin. This was my first time riding an asymmetrical board, and I can honestly say that I’ve never ripped harder heelside turns in my life. You could lay into both toe and heelside turns as hard as possible without ever feeling like you were going to wash out. It’s a fairly stiff board, which made jibbing a bit awkward, but it was a blast to send off park jumps.
If jibbing is your thing, this board might be too stiff for your tastes, but if you like boosting off jumps and tearing up groomers as fast as you possibly can, then I would definitely recommend you give the Helix a shot. It might just change the way you think about carving.
