The Armada Women’s ARV is an incredibly nimble all-mountain ski that suits ladies who crave speed and stability.
Having skied both the women’s TST and the VJJ 2.0, I think the ARV is a nice compromise between the two models. In terms of flex, this ski is softer than both the VJJ and the TST.
The day I skied the ARV we had over a foot of fresh snow at Alta. On the groomers the ski was more reliable at high speed than either the VJJ or the TST. I threw out both short and long radius turns and didn’t notice any chatter or vibration. The narrower 97mm waist lent itself well to carving and I found that the Carbon Kevlar stringers in the tail added noticeably more stability when compared to the VJJ or the TST.
I skied an absolutely perfect untracked powder line over in the Devil’s Castle on the ARV and though the VJJ boasts better flotation, I was not left feeling disappointed in any way as I made my final turns down the Castle.
The 2015 women’s ARV is 131mm in the tip, 97mm underfoot and 121mm in the tail. It has the AR Nose Rocker shape that gives you a traditional sidecut profile with a bit of tip rocker to help with flotation on softer days. This ski also features camber underfoot, lending excellent carving ability and edge hold.
Bottom line, the women’s ARV is incredibly versatile and will make an awesome quiver ski for ladies who demand performance across all categories.
