The T.Rice Speedodeeps is Lib Tech’s latest big mountain, powder floating machine. Travis Rice worked with Lib Tech’s experiMental division to give this board a unique shape and camber profile that make it perfect for the type of big mountain freestyle riding Travis does best. The floaty tip and tail keep this thing on top of the deepest snow, and with a true twin shape, it has no problem surfing pow and sending cliffs in either direction.
The BTX Banana Tech profile places rocker between the feet with subtle camber out to the contact points. The mild tip pressure keeps the float factor high, and the rocker between your feet combines with the Magne-Traction edges for easy turning and solid edge hold on icy hard pack.
The first day I rode the Speedodeeps we got into some heavy spring powder and the second day it dumped 10 inches of dry, fluffy powder throughout the day. The unique nose and tail shape did their job and made it easy to stay on top of the snow, and I was impressed with the strong edge hold when cruising groomers back to the lift.
The thing that really made this board unique from others I tested was how the shape and stiffer flex made it super comfortable to lean back in the deeper snow. For me, this was a perfect powder board.
If you’re looking for a big mountain powder board that will allow you to bring a little freestyle fun to natural terrain, the Lib Tech Speedodeeps is a top candidate for your next snowboard.
